This is a Post Qualifying course recognised by Leeds Beckett University.
Successful completion of the course provides exemption from any other CPD activity in 2019 for the Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists, approved by the Professional Standards Authority under the AR scheme. You will also be on the AR with the title of Certified Supervisor when qualified.
The demand for Play Therapy is rapidly growing due to recognition by the government and others that only by looking after the emotional needs of children can they achieve their potential. There are now a number of recognised training courses producing Play/Creative Art Therapists who require clinical supervision. However, there is a big shortage of suitably trained Supervisors.
The course is open to those who have at least 300 hrs experience of working with children or adolescents using play/creative art therapy as well as experienced, accredited counsellors/professionals. Participants can come from any theoretical background or clinical setting. The course is designed to give an in-depth knowledge and understanding of general supervision principles applicable for clinical practitioners and how to use the creative arts to facilitate this process. The certification process for this course is carried out by PTUK, reg. No.4096707 on behalf of APAC and PTI for CPD credits. At the time of qualification, you will go onto the PSA Register: www.playtherapyregister.org.uk under the title of Certified Supervisor of Play and Creative Arts Therapists. It will provide objective evidence of your capabilities for employers and you will gain a nationally and internationally recognised qualification.

Participants will learn through working with other members of the course about the roles and responsibilities of the supervisory relationship.
