A Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills which enables successful participants to practice therapeutic play skills within their own profession e.g. Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Teacher, Social Worker, Nurse.
This play therapy programme has been clinically accredited by Play Therapy International (PTI). It meets the requirements for registration on the Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists. This register, which is managed by PTI/PTUK, is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority’. It is intended to meet the needs of those who cannot find time during the year to undertake a long term course but would like to obtain a recognised and accredited qualification in the field of play therapy through intensive training.
OBJECTIVES
The overall purpose is to enable participants to practice safely and effectively using therapeutic play skills within a variety of settings. Participants will be trained to provide emotional and psychological support to children facing minor to moderate issues.
